I just want to warn you first about the limitations of xpnote. It seems really interesting but it’s actually not perfect. There are some strange bugs and it is hard to find the way to solve these bugs. The software is able to remember the last position of your computer mouse and the last place you’ve pinned a note. If you move the mouse your note disappers. You need to use another program like mousecursor to fix this problem. This can get annoying after a while.

Another bug that I noticed and there may be others is that if you choose a hotkey to edit the text of the note when there is nothing typed the note turns invisible. I spent countless time and even after changing the shortcut that is assigned for the hotkey it still is invisible. Finally I finally found out that if you type something into the note that is a special character like space or hyphen it turns invisible.

I haven’t found a way to change the note’s color but I’m sure there is a workaround for that.

XP Note is a utility that I actually use daily because I always need to write quick notes to myself or to other people. It’s very easy to use and is pretty fast. I use the default setting for the color and that’s great because it’s already really nice. I like the option to edit the fonts and the sizes.
