The problem with this is that the picture taken is inverted, or the negative would not be read by our eyes.
We can get rid of the purple coloration by using our computer to turn the color back from purple into red, green, blue, etc. Since most computer video signals are digital, this can be done easily by the computer itself, and saved to disk as a digital picture.

Purple fringing is a major effect that severely impacts image quality, as its color and its high contrast are easily noticeable in real situations. This phenomenon becomes a constant problem when trying to capture scenes with a lot of high-contrast areas, such as people against a bright background.
